PEWTER M Pouring 270 - 315 C 1% Cu
This is an excellent composition for a wide variety of castings fairly forgiving of incorrect temperature. BS5140 ABPC

PEWTER L2 Pouring 270 - 315 C We developed this pewter to have an extended freezing range without increasing the working temperature and results in a very useful casting alloy particularly good for overcoming porosity problems, gives a very good surface finish. Slightly softer than the other compositions. This alloy contains bismuth so does not comply with the European standard..

PEWTER E Pouring 270 - 310 C
Pewter alloys are sometimes too brittle to allow the sort of bending required in some castings so this special composition has been designed to be soft and malleable figures can be bent to position whilst giving trouble free casting. Antimony free contains bismuth therefore does not comply with the European standard fro pewter.

PEWTERS SUITABLE FOR HAND CASTING

Hand casting of pewter is more difficult particularly when using rubber moulds, extra care needs to be taken with mould layout venting and temperature control.

PEWTER H1 pouring 260-310C
We developed this pewter to overcome the difficulties of lead free hand casting into rubber. Results approaching those of machine casting are possible in a fairly broad range of casting temperatures ideal if you have no means of temperature control. Contains bismuth so does not comply with the European standard for pewter. It lacks strength in thin sections and if this is a problem Pewter S is the only solution. Can be useful for creating metal masters from RTV moulds. Well suited to jewellery.
